"HOLLY SHIT!!"Hoshi-Ko jumped back half a step backward when she saw the animal ears that seemed to materialise out of the child's hair. This was a pure blooded goddess, not like herself, the pathetic half-blood that couldn,t fit in anywhere. Maybe she said too much with just mentioning parentage. Lost in her mullings, Hoshi-Ko didn't hear anything about a brother that didn;t like strangers.

The little girl's bright eyes fell upon Hoshi's animated response to her 'power'. At first Katsami simply possessed a blank face, eyes wider than usually as they blinked minimal times. Her jaws parted momentarily like she finally understood, her confused and shocked face melting into that of innocent pleasantries. She giggled lightly, like she usually did. "I suppose you know now. I am the forest goddess, spirit of the wolf and brother kitsune." Her smile was gentle, and her bright eyes flickered with her amiable nature.

Hoshi-Ko brushed back a strand of brilliant silver hair from her face and tryed to regain what composure she had in the first place, "So... um..." She scratched the back of her head nervously. This was the longest she had talked to anyone without them finding out what she was. Needless to say it was unerving.

Katsami peered at the nervous halfbreed behind her long lashes. The graceful proportions of her body stirring to lift a curled hand to cover her mouth in a sweet giggle. As the hand withdrew, her skin a milky dew, it returned back to her side. "You do not need to be anxious, Star child. I know of many languages and many breeds, I have seen your kind before." Katsami's lashes fully revealed her bright eyes so her kind face gleamed. "It was a long time ago, but I have seen your kind before. If you forgive my turn of phrase." She then continued to speak in that mystic tongue, the syllables sharp with brevity but deep in their notes and pitch changes. A wondrous blend of chords that was made vibrant to the ears. She had said a short phrase and when she was done she smiled sweetly.

"You've seen... Where? Why?" Hoshi-Ko looked at the little goddess with the longing of a lonely child for a home. She had just been given the hope of serenity and peace. Maybe that had something to do with the phrase the child goddess had just recited but, truly, Hoshi-Ko wanted to know where there were others like her.

Katsami, for the first time in her cheer, appeared disheartened, for her lids and smile had slackened. She looked at Hoshi with an apologetic stare, her bright eyes appeared so soft with her angelic features. The sunlight giving a brilliant, warm outline that glowed on her hair. "I apologize, but I can only see and call my own kin. I regret any hardship my words might bring you. But please, Star child, you are not alone in this world," Her peach lips lifted gracefully, and her voice, light and dainty like the rest of her, was calming. "There is always a light." Her eyes closed momentarily, gentle lashes falling upon tender cheeks.

Hoshi-Ko sighed, letting her head fall forward as if exhausted. She wasn't used to these feelings being as strong as they now were; hope and longing... Of course they were always there, she just decidedly kept them at bay. Hoshi-Ko walked forward and let herself sink to the ground with her back to the stump where the goddess sat, "You had me going there for a bit... So, why are you just sitting here all by your lonesome? Don't you ever get bored?" She looked up at the girl, inquiringly, with her purple and silver eyes.

Katsami's head angled down towards Hoshi, her long hair cascading about her face, enclosing it in a veil of loveliness. She smiled kindly, seeming undisturbed by Hoshi's presence beside her. Her delicate hands lowered to curl their graceful fingers onto the sides of her woodland chair, supporting herself upon her hands. "I apologize," She echoed her first response at Hoshi's beginning words, however the kind smile still kept as she shifted her bright stare toward the sky. "This is one of my favorite places to sit. I often come here, however Bear disagrees with me being so 'out in the open'," A light chuckle, adorned by her euphonious voice, rang quietly among the trees and plants. "I just can't help myself, though. The trees surround the sky here like no other place does. Look..." She stared fondly up into the tree canopy, the assortments of leaves dancing and flicking as they were caught and released by the light breeze. The sky was, indeed, surrounded by the shadows of the trees branches, and cut by their outlines that changed frequently from the wind. The shapes and thickness of the clouds that passed at different paces and the dances of the tree's limbs were so strangely captivating. Then the tranquility was suddenly broken as a deep, feral rumble shook the gentleness from the air. It was a rough, brutish noise and emitted from an outcropping of branches whose shadows failed to hide a tall, broad shouldered figure. Whose eyes flashed with a hostile light and lips were curled into a virile snarl that revealed the sharpness of his teeth, glinting in the shadows. "Clear away from the goddess," His voice was sharp, unhesitant, and had a velvety low pitch, wild and dangerous but enticing. "Clear away!" He practically barked, his voice obtaining such a loud, sharp ring that the branches seemed to shake from a second force. Katsami seemed disgruntled, her face scrunched into a displeased frown, however no fear or anger charged her face. "Bear, be nice. She is a guest." She reasoned, her light voice steady and calm, yet her bright eyes looked remotely pleading. Her tenderness was met with a harsh snarl from he man in the shadows. This growl deeper, more sinister than the last. The girl's brow slanted the pleading left her eyes and although little anger reflected in her voice the new edge made her light voice stern, she held the authority well. "Oh, will you stop that?" The man's growling quieted but still continued its skeptical rumble, lips slackening their drawn snarl. Katsami watched the man warily, but her face gained a light smile, the kind act seemed to quell the man's snarls further. The rumbles now a soft, low frequency that, although, still held hostility was mostly tamed. Katsami kept her stare on the man most of the time, but stole a glance at Hoshi, eyes bright and warm once again like her gentle voice. "Now then, dear one, why don't you introduce yourself? This is my brother, Kale, most commonly known as 'Bear'," A displeased snort came from the shadows, the eyes still retaining their hellish light and the snarls finally ceased. His lips laid into a heavy scowl, most of his face and body still blocked by the trees and shadows.

Hoshi-Ko looked up at the canopy with the goddess, admiring the beauty of nature, and for once, she felt at peace with the world. Her peace was shattered when the threatening rumble filled the air. Immediately she tensed and looked for the origin of the sound. It came from a large man only slightly hidden behind the tree branches. "Clear away from the goddess. Clear away!" she had scrambled to the edge of the clearing and stood there, slightly resembling a cat in the fact that she looked ready to pounce into the trees at the slightest hint of bodily harm. Hoshi-Ko watched intently at the exchange that occurred between brother and sister, intrigued. Bear, or Kale, seemed to be willing to do what his sister said. She wondered just how far the requests from the girl could go before he disobeyed. The half breed was pulled out of her thoughts by Katsami's request to introduce herself. The star-human took one step forward into the clearing and flinched at Kale's snort. She decided to stay in that spot. She waved sheepishly, "Hi... I - I'm Hoshi-Ko. Nice to meet you, Kale..."

Bear followed Hoshi's movements carefully, and his scowl laid heavily on his lips. Katsami seemed less prone to stare, keeping cautious around her lethal brother. Bear eyed Hoshi sternly, his face thick with a reserved emotion, silent, and his eyes glazed over with a hostile light. Katsami seemed displeased, for her warm smile slackened, a look of slight disappointment on her delicate face. Yet, even with these sad contours upon her she held the discontent with utmost poise, and, unintentionally, enclosed her face in a soft emotion, beauteously sad. "Bear, please..." She called, somber. Kale was stiff, the black shapes of his shadows didn't stir. His eyes a frightening amber, paled to the point the color became an eerie gold, and the light that flashed in them made them terrifying. Yet, he obeyed, and his shadowed bulk silently stalked away from the depths of the trees. His head rose quite high above the earth, his hair a deep, noble brown that became a fiery russet in the light. It fell about his face in layers, stiff and straight like the length of his body, and curled strangely near his shoulders in rebellious swirls. His face was stern and weathered, but strong. Bear's body appeared relaxed, none of his hulk tense, his disposition calm, while his eyes and face blazed with the captivating danger that had reflected in his voice. He wore black cloth that protected most of his sun kissed skin, glistening and warm looking, odd against his strikingly cold stare. Eight, thick, iron wristbands decorated in ivory climbed up his exposed right arm, connected by chains that surprisingly made no noise as he walked, rather it brought a chilling silence about him. Katsami smiled at her brooding sibling, the air heavy but unable to suffocate the warmth from her grin. Kale's stare flickered to Katsami, but without an instants passing shifted it chillingly back to Hoshi. "Pleasure.." He spoke through his icy breath, his lips returning into a stiff frown.

Hoshi-Ko grinned slightly. It was amusing to her how such a large, vicious-looking individual can be bossed around in such a manner by such a small, pretty little girl. "So... Uh...," Uncertain of what to do next, and praying for no more surprises, she sat on the grass, feeling the muscles stretch and tingle as they took a break from their earlier beating through the woods, "Are you two traveling together right now, do you live here, what?" She asked these questions, not thinking if they were too personal or not. Really, she didn't care considering it had been so long since she had any kind of peaceful contact with anyone. Even if it was a bit strained with Bear hovering just across the meadow, she was willing to sit here and inquire until she could talk no more.
((I'm baaaaaack!!))

Katsami gave a delicate tilt of her head, a thin cascade of her fair hair following the subtle movement like a film of water, spilling in a gentle flow. She answered whimsically, but there was a diluted alertness about her form, tensing her otherwise sweet natured air. Her onyx lashes fluttered close, a gentle kindle of warmth on her cheeks as her voice, soft and euphoric, wafted eloquently passed her lips. "Our home has always been this place. We are its keeper, but not its master. Therefore, we may go whenever we please, but we simply choose not to." Kale's gruff voice etched passed his thick jaw, a skeptical, piercing flicker in his gold eyes. "This place can be no one's home. For it does not belong to anyone.. We simply belong here, and so it shelters us. We do not make anything out of it, not even a home." It was quite a crude translation of Katsami's version, and an uncomfortable crease furrowed her lovely brow. She glanced to Kale for but a moment, then returned it to Hoshi and smiled vaguely with a weakly retained grin. Kale emitted a haughty snort, folding his muscle-thick, sun blessed arms across his lower torso. "We do not leave because we can't... Our lives are as dependent upon this soil as the trees." He muttered grudgingly between his teeth, devouring Hoshi in his malicious, demonic glower. Katsami was sat upon her earthen throne, silent, smiling quietly beneath her armored expression.

Hoshi-Ko could no longer stand the glower that pounded against her skull and radiated through her body. She pierced her violet eyes onto Kale, a blank look written on her semi-immortal face, "If you have something to say then say it. I feel like a cat about to be thrown into the water with you standing there like a threatening statue." She then grins a slightly maniacal grin and adds, "I've taken pretty bad so-" Far off in the distance behind Hoshi-Ko, the shouts of angry men resounded through the forest. She turned to face the noise, "Dammit... These villagers are persistent." She turned to face the little goddess sitting upon her throne, "I think it is time to be leaving."

Kale's voice did not sound, rather his eyes spoke for him, and they spoke loudly and sharply. A deep, horrid flash in their depths while his lips curled into a menacing snarl. The canines glinting in his feral jaw, an animalistic grumble thick in his throat that caused the leaves near him to quiver. Katsami did not seem impressed, but horrified, her bright eyes yielding to a wide stretch and shifting suddenly to Hoshi with her darling face strained by dense worry and fret. Ears dressed in a silken white appearing at the top of her head, swiveling their furry bases into the crown of her skull in an apprehensive way. The submitting gesture accompanied by the simultaneous flutter of her frantic, revealed tail. The appendage slender but thickened by so much pure fluff it was hard to distinguish what species it belonged to. The fur cascading down her tail, alike her cupped ears, collected and glimmered a faint shine in the forest light. "Please mind him, child, he is offended very easily." Her large eyes hesitantly flickered to glimpse at Kale's smoldering stare, cold and refracting the light eerily. Neither of the forest nymphs seemed affected by the men's voices, although Bear's agitation hitched slightly higher, and one could've sworn the noble hairs on his head began to stand in wrath. His bold eyes never faltered, and the animosity in their depths was comparatively a giant to what he used to spare her. His lean frame, built of muscle and sun blessed flesh, rigid and restrained, but seethed in shaking, intimidating rage. Katsami no longer attempted to control him, for she knew her brother well, and sat patiently with an anxious, but gentle air. Her pleasant face no longer wrought with the fear it had expressed before, but dwindled into the natural calm grooves of her cheeks, and light shadow of her bright eyes by her fair lashes. She watched with attention, but grace, and allowed her brother to speak heatedly without restraint. "The villagers close should know this holy place is forbidden to them. I will rid the trees of them," He turned abruptly, tough shoulders square to the others, and the chains that adorned his apparel silent despite the movement. "However, if I return and you are still here I will kill you.." He spat, his glance sifting across his shoulders to gaze upon Hoshi. His eyes cold and metallic, pertaining the same icy chill and inhumane flickering light. He turned away, and, without waiting for protest or retort vanished soundlessly into the forest depths. Katsami paused and emitted a hollow sigh, empty with the exception of an amused relief. She returned to her delicate poise, thin legs draped with a feminine charm across the other and folding her hands calmly onto her lap. She smiled, her lips curling lightly. "That," She began, her lashes falling closed over her cheeks. "Was very rare. How lucky for you. If you were fully human, you would probably be dead by now," She addressed lightly, a soft smile lingering on her face as she continued. "It must be hard, but please understand Bear's temperament. Humans have been disrespectful to us as of late, and it has made him very tense. More than once a human has tried to destroy sacred shrines, petty child games, you see. Without those shrines we die. Without the forest we die. Without human faith we die. We are all, the nymphs and gods of this forest, dying very slowly, and although we do not fear death we do not welcome it. But, enough of this folly, you may move from us if you'd like." Katsami laughed tenderly, a tired chuckle that faded in resonance. As the laughter passed she leaned her face back into the sunlight, a pleasant grin coaxing her relaxed frame.

Hoshi-Ko sighed and muttered, not really caring if the child figure heard or not, "If I were full anything I'd still be hunted... but at least with a home to go to..." she ran a hand through her glittering black hair as an idea struck her. She wasn't going to run anymore... maybe she could make a home for herself... no more running... She uttered a quick, "Be right back." as she again entered the woods, in the direction of the voices, at a sprint. So far, none has bested her speed and that was one thing that Hoshi-Ko prided of herself. The voices grew louder as she closed in upon their source, and adrenaline began to pump through her veins in uncertainty of her decision. Every step brought her farther from the crossroads of her life and into a new life. It was not too late to turn back but her mind was made up. They were close. She slowed to a jog, a trot, then to a stop in front of the angry men, "Why do you chase me?" She asked simply, before adding, "I have done nothing to-" But the men would have nothing of it, they charged her. A small shriek escaped her lips just before dodging a mans pitchfork, which she grabbed and managed to yank away from him before preceding to beat the man with his own proposed weapon, the metal and wood implement whistling satisfactorily through the air. The other men had left as soon as the half-breed began showing any sign of resistance and Hoshi-Ko stood panting in mild satisfaction that she had stopped running from her problems. Little bubbles of laughter started as Hoshi-Ko tossed the bloody pitchfork to the side and she, herself, backed away a few steps. the laughter slowly turned to tears of fear, despair, all of the negative emotions that had been stored up for years. She fell to her knees at the body of her deceased enemy. Her face was hidden behind a brilliant veil of black-silver and the only evidence of sorrow was her shaking body.
