For Love of the Galaxy

It was a storming afternoon on the planet of Corouscant and the gloom of the outdoors matched that of the mood in the High Council room. The Jedi were trying there nerves to the last strand, attempting to find a solution to a growing problem, "This has gone on long enough! Surely there is something else we can do, Master Tano?" Grand Master Loyola Tano was elected to lead after Master Luke Skywalker retired to his home planet of Tattoine. Loyola regarded the speaker with interest, "And what do you propose, Master Purlon?" Mikal Purlon was the youngest member of the Jedi High Council, His youth only countered by his wisdom beyond his years. "What about outside help? They wouldn't be expecting us to go beyond the outer-rim so they wouldn't have the time to react and attack our ship!" His youthfull vigour, however, has shown through many-a-time. The togrutan Grand Master pinched the bridge of her nose and the human male to her right responded to the young Twi'ilek, "And what of our home Galaxy? Surely you do not intend to send everyone?" Mikal would have looked taken aback, had he not been used to his old master's sarcasm. "Of course not Master Shadosie! Only two or three, even one Jedi could complete this task, the planet I have in mind-" Loyola looked up, "You already have a planet picked out?" Mikal nodded, his eyes glistening, "Yes. I wanted to present my idea all at once." Murmmers quietly spread among the council members while Loyola thought to herself and the graying Shadosie smiled at his old Padawan, encouraging him to continue. Mikal Purlon grinned and produced a small marble from a pouch on his belt and walked to the middle of the room, where a lone, silver pole rose from the ground. Mikal stopped in front of the pole, lilfted his hand to shoulder height, then lowered the blinds, darkening the room before placing the marble on the concaved tip of the pole. Pin-pricks of light danced from the marble to all reaches of the room, before stopping in whatever position they were supposed to be in. "This is our neighboring galaxy, known by the natives as the 'Milky Way.'"
