The class mumbled quietly, talking among themselves in low tones. Some quieter than others as they spoke about random topics, the teacher paid no mind. Still at his desk, reading, his bald head sweating a little from the florescent lights that gleamed on his head. The bell only rang a few moments ago and he was finishing a chapter. Augito was, as usual, not talking to anyone. Still fretting about getting her things together as she always lost her pencils at the bottom of her bag. The teacher stood, speed reading the last few sentences, then slapped the book loudly on his desk. The class quieted, some students jumping at the sudden noise, including Augito. Forgetting about her pencil and turning upright in her desk, eyes wide. "Alright, these instructions will be brief and simple. We're going to work on a group project today," His speech was interrupted with quiet groans he easily spoke over. "It's a simple project, you're going to read through Ch. 15 and then summarize the chapter, turning it into a five panel comic strip. Color is optional, and the supplies are on the shelves at the front of the class." He finished, quick to sit back down in his chair. Augito's head lowered, her long soft toned brown bangs hiding her eyes as she once again tried to find her pencil. Normally she would've dreaded a group project, and she was still deathly afraid of people. She often never said anything and just did what the group told her to do, so long as she could leave the class without regretting anything. However they were growing a little more tolerable for her, but just barely. "Hey, what's her name?" Spoke a voice behind her "I think it's Marry..." Whispered another person next to her. "That's not her name!" The first person snickered, Augito felt a poke at her shoulder blade. She flinched terribly, quick to raise herself. The student behind her flinched, not expecting her reaction but quickly got over it, he smiled at her. "Hey, do you think you can get us some scissors?" Augito didn't know who the lazy boy was, she was still a little shaken from her previous shock. "Actually, I-" She began in a quiet voice, hardly audible. "Oh, come on," The boy persisted, his smile getting wider. "Please?" Augito hesitated, then she gave a small nod. As she departed from her desk she didn't hear the short giggles coming from behind her. She started making her way to the shelves and immediately regretted it. There, out in the open. She could feel her body starting to go rigid, at the front of the class, all alone. Fear began to constrict her mind and she felt her breath become quick and shallow. Everyone could be staring at her, what were they saying? Thinking? She was on the spot up there, she wanted to get back to her desk quickly as she felt her full fear of people begin to take her, she reached the shelves. Lifting her head, blinking, she noticed the scissors were on the second shelf and she wondered if she'd be able to reach it. She reached out a hand for it, not even close. She rose it higher and higher until her entire arm was raised and her fingers and elbow outstretched almost painfully. Her muscles trembled and stretched, she lifted herself onto her toes. Her balance became uneasy so she adjusted her footing every so often. Still not enough, she began to blush. Her digits touched the edge of the second shelf. So close, yet she knew she'd never be able to reach it. She couldn't go back now, though. She blushed harder knowing people were watching, watching her struggle as she raised both arms, stretched as far as she could. Shudders went through her body, the teacher started giving her a strange look.

Soft hands positioned themselves just below Augito's ribs and right above her hips. A strong, yet very gentle lift rose Augito from the ground, making her float delicately off the ground a decent amount of inches. Zed's warm hands guided her to the shelf. The freshman was dressed in the common men's uniform, his hair the only thing that stood out from the other high school boys. Zed's taller form was Augito's shadow, stretched higher behind her.

As Augito's small, nimble feet lifted off the ground she was brought out of her determined state, her eyes widening and a her cheeks turning a bright red as she felt someone's hands. She was quick to look over her shoulder at who was holding her up. However, it was almost like she could recognize Zed before she even turned around to look at him. Like his touch was all she needed to know it was him. When Zed fully came into her gaze she couldn't help a quiet, nervous giggle from emitting from her. She turned her head back round, barely even noticing the stares she was getting from some of the students and the questioning look from the teacher. Her attention back on the scissors, smiling softly, knowing Zed was there she grasped her hands around the handles of two scissors, making sure she wouldn't drop them before she took them out of the box. She lowered her arms and turned her head back around to face Zed. Her green depths reflected gratitude and hinted at her nerves, just beginning to notice that people were staring. However, despite her nerves and her embarrassment she continued to smile softly at him. "Thank you, I've got them now, Zed." The teacher was giving the pair a queer look. "If you two are done touching each other kindly take your seats. You can do naughty things later." He joked. Augito's stare came to the teacher, her realization came to her and she blushed heavily, her eyes widening. "W-we aren't doing anything like that! I mean this looks awkward and all, and it's in the middle of class, but he's just helping me get scissors! Really!" Augito defended, her words rushed and frantic. The teacher gave her another strange look and the class began to chuckle and giggle. Augito bit her bottom lip, blushing madly, letting her long bangs slide in front of her eyes.

Zed's velvet smile spread across his face as he lowered her slowly. "Good. I'm sorry for embarrassing you." He murmured tenderly. Once her feet touched the ground, he curled his hands around her hips and turned his head to the teacher. "Haha, okay." The wrapped arms receded back into normal position as he slide off back to his seat. His shoulders slouched and he cradled his chin in his palm. His eyes were blank, giving away no expressions. He hadn't grown much in the past couple weeks, but he seemed more mature mentally.

Augito's face was still hot, lifting a few of her fingers to brush her long bangs behind her ear, the strands lasting only a few moments before they slid back. Resting her abnormally light body against Zed's chest for a moment. Her stare lowered down to the floor, the heat of Zed's hands still on her hips. "You could never embarrass me, I'm happy when you do these things for me..." She whispered before he left, her hands grasping tightly onto the scissors, her hands resting on her chest. When he departed from her she was quick to return to her seat. Her legs moving quickly, the end of her skirt that was accustomed to the girl's uniform flicked once or twice with her anxious strides. She kept her eyes on the floor, even as she placed the pair of scissors on the desk of the boy behind her. Her cheeks heated, rummaging around in her bag to keep herself busy. As one would probably imagine the class murmured and gossiped about the two for a few minutes until they were over it. Her pencil made subtle motions in her small fingers, eyes wandering the perimeter around her desk. Resting her cheek against her knuckles. She sat there, her eyes glazed over an expression apathetic, lost in thought. Her stare had found its way to the ceiling, but wasn't looking at anything in particular. It was almost like she was in her dream state, completely still and silent. "Was that your boyfriend 'er something?" Augito blinked, her eyes widening as she was brought out of her reverie. It was the boy behind her, she gave him a quick glance to see him smiling cheekily at her. Her cheeks were red within the second the question was asked. She took on a nervous exterior, her eyes locked on her paper. The paper was blank, seeing as though her group, the lazy boy and his friend, only asked to see her notes for the chapter and were going to do the comic strip themselves. "Come on, don't give me the cold shoulder." Augito's shoulders shuddered as she felt the boy's finger prod her. "P-please don't..." She asked, her voice quiet and weak. "Eh? Well that's insulting, you let that one guy place his hands all over you and I can't even poke you?" He feigned a hurt tone, sounding offended. "I'm sorry, I-I didn't mean it like that... And he's not a-all over me..." Her voice became quieter, her head hanging a little lower as she tried to concentrate on doing something on the blank piece of paper, her pencil trembling in her hand. "Hey-" His voice was interrupted by the bell. Augito lifted her head, wondering how much class time she had spent staring off into space. The group representatives stood from their desks and handed in their papers. Augito began putting her things away, tension withering away from her exterior as her group left her, leaving her looking exhausted. Standing by her desk she secured the strap of her bag on her shoulder and waited for Zed. Her eyes on the ground so she didn't have to see the people that passed, lifting a few of her fingers to brush her long bangs out of her eyes.

Zed slipped his folder into his backpack and heaved it over his shoulder. His distinctive gaze pointed out Augito, and he pulled away from his desk to meet up with her. He greeted her with a warm smile and stuffed his hands into his pockets. His arm that was previously swollen to the bone had recovered its natural peach color. His skin had been flawless and unscathed the past week, with no signs of new injuries. "Hey~" He waited for some students to exit before he propped the door open. He would follow her lead once she exited. "So how are those lovely group members of yours?"

Augito lifted her gaze once she heard Zed, lifting her tranquil eyes to him, a soft smile coming to her face. Her smiles were so sincere recently its been almost staggering. So serene and complete, just being around Zed seemed to bring this smile to her face, she hadn't even cried in three or four days. K.G. had also been leaving her alone lately for some reason so no new troubles plagued her. Her smile brightened as Zed held the door open for her, beaming and blushing. She walked through the door, paused to wait for Zed, her face light and brightened. Since her crying had been stilled her cheeks weren't as hollowed, or eyes as shrunken. She looked so happy and healthy now aside from her pale skin and scrawny exterior. Walking side by side with him, one of her hands gripping the fabric of his sleeve. Despite her improvements and the time that had passed clinging to Zed's sleeve still remained one of her affectionate habits. At the mention of her group members her smile wavered a bit, but didn't wither completely. "Same as they always have been. They're the ones who sent me to get the scissors today. I really do appreciate you helping me, Zed, I don't know what I would've done if I had to walk back to my seat empty handed. I think they're beginning to grow tired of teasing me though. That'd be nice, I'd hate to keep bothering you." Augito's eyes widened, her smile dropped. "Not that I think that you hate helping me! Or that I'm trying to break away from you or anything! Does that sound weird? Ugh, I'm sorry..." Augito sighed. She was quiet for a while, her silence was a little odd, and her cheeks were beginning to flush. "U-um.. Zed, I know I shouldn't be asking for anything because I'm already so fortunate that you're even around me... A-and if you don't want to you can tell me, and don't feel bad if you don't want to, not that you need to feel bad..." Augito stopped herself when she realized she was rambling, she lifted her gaze to Zed for a brief moment, her cheeks growing hotter until she finally lowered her stare to the ground. "C-can... If it's ok... Can I hold your hand?" The bridge or her nose was red along with her cheeks, struggling to look up at Zed from behind her bangs that were once again in front of her eyes.

Zed felt the familiar touch of her at his sleeves, and just responded in a smile. "Really, it's nothing. They'll shape up, just wait. No one can keep up an act forever." His eyes gazed at her attentively with a hint of worry with her sudden stammering. He knew she normally got to the point eventually, so he stayed quiet till she was done. Zed's first thoughts of her request was bullying, although he was almost sure it had been slightly dying out. Relief melted in his clear blue eyes. His hand reached up to meet hers on his sleeve, and his fingers curled around her palm. "Anything you want Augito. Your happiness is the only thing to me that keeps the world turning." He gently lifted her palm that was in his, and kissed the top of her hand. "And because of that, I tend to carried away. Please tell me if I become too much."

Augito's gaze betrayed its hiding place, her head lifting as she watched Zed. Her smile was still missing but she gazed at him with an almost awe, her eyes large and blinking. Her breathing shallowed, her lips parting slightly as he grasped her hand. Her heart making more profound beats in her chest as he kissed her hand, the feeling of Zed's lips on her skin made half of her mind haze away. Feeling her lids recede from their widened state. Her cheeks softened by her blush. "Zed..." She whispered breathlessly, almost to herself. Her eyes became more focused on him and a shy smile raised her lips. "You're going to spoil me, Zed." Her smile weakened, her eyes lowering as her cheeks grew hotter. "If you keep treating me like this I'll get too used to it and abuse you. I don't want to do that, I want to make you happy too." Augito spoke quietly, her small fingers tightening on Zed's. She felt comforted by his hand, even more so than she was by his sleeve, and she couldn't help her smile from returning. "You shouldn't worry about my world, or me being happy. B-becasue..." Her cheeks were a blistering red, feeling the tension of her nerves constrict her lungs. Her free hand clenching the fabric of her skirt for some sort of release of tension. Her words eventually so heavy on her tongue that they left her."Because you are my world and just being around you makes me happy... D-does that sound weird?" Augito asked quietly, her voice a nervous whisper. Her head struggling against her weak will, her stare coming back to Zed's face. Her gaze, for once, not entirely pestered by her long bangs, most of them gathered over her right eye from the crane of her head.

Zed felt her hand squeeze delicately in his, and he kept his steady smile. His gait began to slow, yet still holding onto her fragile little fingers while he walked. "Augito a little abuse isn't going to make me go away, you know that right? The only thing that can make me disappear are your heart's words. If you honestly said you didn't want me around anymore, I could do that. But I can't promise that I wouldn't keep you safe, whether you were with someone else or not. It's a full time job, y'know." His smile widened and he chuckled. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be taking your words so lightly. It's just hard for me to accept that as a good enough argument." His other hand lifted his backpack strap and pulled his slipping backpack higher on his shoulder. Zed stopped a few feet in front of a distinctive classroom door. "If I wasn't happy, I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't be here at this school, here at this world, or here with you, Augito." He glanced at the door, his grin slightly dissolving. "I'll meet up with you after sixth period as usual? Remember if anyone causes you trouble or you need anything I'll have my phone on me. I'm sorry I couldn't be closer. And Augito, do what you want, not other people. They can take care of themselves. You need to take care of you. The last thing you need to worry about is lazy people, alright?" He revived his soft grin. Zed's free hand lifted to cover the other side of Augito's hand so that it was in the middle of his two warm palms. "Augito, I'm happy. You are the best decision I've ever made, and I couldn't be more grateful . I hope you can believe me." His smile was tender, yet his eyes were hollow.

Augito listened to Zed, only interrupting him sometimes with a short giggle. She didn't mind staying quiet the whole time he talked, she enjoyed listening to him. Her peculiar eyes, their green pigment different from each member of her family, remained on Zed as he spoke. She followed his gaze to his classroom door and she felt her heart sink a little, her frail fingers gripping tighter on his. Her stare came back to him when she noticed he started speaking again. She gave him the same concentrated silence she usually did when he spoke, when he was done she paused so a sweet smile could come to her lips. "I don't understand why you care about me so much because of all the terrible things I've put you through... But I'll believe anything you choose to share with me with the whole of my heart, and I would never willingly leave you... Because I'm abusive and I don't want to let you go..." Her voice was soft and nervous, staring up at Zed behind a wall of red that was beginning to grow on her face. Unwilling to take her hands away from Zed in order to venture off to her English class. Her most dreaded class of the day, just thinking about it turned her heart heavy. She kept her concentration on Zed, on the vision of his face and the warmth of his hands. That warmth which soothed her chilly body. Thinking about those things helped her to steer away from thoughts about her English class, and her smile remained as strong as it was previous. "Right, same place outside the library? But you don't need to be so worried about me, Zed, I'll be fine."She gave him a reassuring smile, her hand still laced in Zed's. Looking back at their conversation Augito felt her cheeks grow a little hot, and her smile grew a little.

Zed let a deep breath escape him, and he smiled tenderly. It was useless to argue with her, so he didn't even bother. "Alright, I'll see you at the meet. If you don't have too much homework, maybe we could go somewhere after school if you're up for it." He winked and used their conjoined hands to pull her close to him for a big, gentle hug. "Unless you're sick of seeing me around all the time." He whispered by her ear before letting go. "I'm kidding." He slowly let his fingers slip from hers, one at a time. "Augito...If I ever say I don't love you, please don't believe me." Zed glanced at her with the soft smile he still had on, but his eyes were expressionless. He rested a hand delicately on her head, keeping his smile, before turning away without giving her time to respond.

Augito smiled up at Zed, listening to him speak. She wasn't expecting the hug, her eyes widening and blushing viciously. However she quickly got used to it, the speed of her adjustment scaring her a little. Her eyelids lowered with a shy smile on her face. She didn't want to get too intertwined with him else it would take a lot of her will to pull away, however she couldn't help but rest her head against him. The feeling of Zed's arms, the warmth he embraced her with was something she couldn't resist. Her heart quickened as she felt his breath against her ear. "I could never be sick of you..." She whispered back, lifting her head a little so her words wouldn't be muffled. At his last words her eyes widened to their full extent, her stare fixated on him. Her mind shut down, she couldn't believe what she heard. "W-what?" She finally managed to utter. A word so simple and vague, but besides this simple word her mind had no idea how else to reply. It didn't matter if Zed turned away for she didn't have any idea on how to respond. The words kept with her, as she thought over them she could only come up with one logical answer, however she couldn't fully wrap her mind around it. She wanted to stop thinking about it, continuing on her way to her class in an attempt to divert her attention. She couldn't shake it though, her face getting redder and redder. Her mind so scattered she hit a wall. The impact wasn't that hard as her pace had been easy, however the jolt startled her. She backed a few paces, her eyes wide. "When did a wall get here?" She asked, absent minded. Walking around the wall and to her classroom, not noticing the crude giggles she had left behind. She felt her emotions start to raise on high, so frazzled yet so excited and she didn't know why. She didn't know what was going on with herself or how she'd react upon meeting Zed in the next hour. She remembered his gentle touches and his soft smiles, how he had held her so tightly whenever she had been crying or hurt. When he brought her to his house, just that morning when he had helped her. Even with all of these bits and pieces of memories, all so powerful to her she couldn't understand. Her throat was dry, her mind fatigued. She was in her classroom, in her seat. She still couldn't stop thinking about it. Zed, all she could think about was him. Then she realized all she ever really did was think about him, this fact confused her to no end. yet, for some reason the more she thought about it the more anxious she became, the more excited to see him. Augito sighed, resting her head in her hand so her fingers could press on her scalp. "Is he really 'all over me?'" She murmured to herself unintentionally.

Zed's eyes traced the movements of his teacher's hand on the white board, blinking slowly. He found it alot easier to concentrate recently, and he gave a light guess to what it was. He lifted his arms onto his desk and bent his elbows so that his arms surrounded and cradled his lowered head. Things were nearly back to normal, yet it felt so different. With his life a bit more settled, it made it easier to carry out a casual lifestyle. Even though every day now in the present seems to offer the same daily, secure schedule, everything felt off to him. He found that now with his life less hectic and stable, that Zed had less things to think about, ponder, and also stress about. Most would find that relieving, but Zed was a worrier. It bothered and tugged at him when he could pay attention ever so clearly without having anything else on mind. It made him feel selfish. Zed laid his chin flatter on the desk. He dug up some people and things he could look over, but it was troublesome. Those kind of things he purposely stashed away in hopes of forgetting. Lucky for him, the bell rang just in time. Zed pulled his backpack over both shoulders and slipped out of the room before most of the class. His feet guided him down the halls and near the library where he would wait for Augito if she was not already there. His eyes watched other students pass blankly, recognizing a few. But there were none he saw that were on talking terms any longer. After he meet Augito, most of his friendships and partners shrank into acquaintances. But he was content with that.
